We currently own and operate over 65 Holiday and workforce Parks throughout Australia and employ over 1100 people within these parks. Discovery Parks has recently acquired Australia’s largest network of parks – Top Parks.

The Top Parks transaction structure (being a 100% purchase of the brand) has ultimately accelerated Discovery Parks strategic goals to become the clear market leader in the industry. The acquisition of Top Parks has provided sufficient scale to establish the Licensed Parks Business. In addition to the acquisition of Top Parks, we have launched the G’Day Rewards loyalty program. The Loyalty business has set an ambitious growth plan.

Discovery’s strategy is underpinned by a significant investment in customer centric operations and technology. Discovery is looking to leverage the work across a larger footprint of parks through the introduction of Licensed parks.

The Role

The Executive Assistant will be responsible for providing general business administrative support as well as high level and confidential administrative and management support to the Discovery Parks’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). You will be working alongside and supporting our CEO who is a dynamic Entrepreneur who has lead a great SA business success story.

The position requires someone who is highly organised, discreet and mature with the ability to assess the urgency or otherwise of work allocated and/or situations and prioritise their workload accordingly. The Executive Assistant, whilst having a direct reporting line to the CEO, will also provide support and assistance to the CFO.

As the Executive Assistant, you will ensure that all administrative work is completed to a very high standard. This role is responsible for scheduling meetings, collating board papers and assisting with presentations. This role is responsible for providing a high level of assistance to the Executive Team and is often trusted with complex duties and sensitive information.

This head-office based position operates in a dynamic, fast paced environment as the business demands grow and change. This position places an emphasis on working collaboratively across all levels and functions within the business, to ensure the smooth running of the office working on a one to one basis with the Executive team and all internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with all business units within the Discovery Parks team. This role is both internally and externally focused and requires a high degree of confidentiality as you will have access to an array of highly discreet and sensitive business information.

The Executive Assistant plays an integral part in overseeing the general administration duties for the Adelaide Office. You will be hardworking, dedicated and loyal with a pleasant, easy going personality that can take direction well and be proactive in meeting all business requirements, whilst always modelling and promoting Discovery Park’s values

Your Experience

To be successful in this role you will need several years previous work experience as an Executive Assistant. A Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration will be highly regarded. You must be able to demonstrate previous experience managing internal stakeholder relationships at all levels, in particular with Executive and Board Members.

A high level of proficiency in computer skills and advanced user knowledge of MS Office suite, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint is essential. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information is key as is having a very high standard of grammar and spelling excellent writing skills.

Your sound analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to function well in an environment of rapid change is essential as is your exceptional time management skills with the added skill of being able to multi-task.

You will need to possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, decisiveness, initiative, flexibility and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at Discovery Parks. With access to business sensitive information you will need a strict sense of confidentiality, with lots of honesty and trustworthiness.

A strong work ethic will hold you in good stead as you work in a consultative manner with a commitment to a team-based approach. Your professional communication and presentation skills, with the ability and willingness to assist others in a warm and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport with the team will ensure that you become part of the team instantly.
