We are seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Technician to work as part of our busy Field Service Team based from our customers site at Rosebery.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will be directed by onsite supervisors to carry out and/or assist with the repairs and maintenance of Caterpillar Underground Mining equipment, maintaining a safe working environment for all colleagues and ensuring customer satisfaction & value for money.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

    • Providing excellent customer service 
    • Trouble shooting & repairs of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment
    • Ensuring accurate service reports are completed
    • Managing all parts are ordered before the commencement of the job
    • Ensuring all parts are credited immediately if they are deemed unnecessary for the job  
    • Ensuring appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are applied at all times
    • Ensuring all paperwork is completed within set time frames
    • Comply with all company safety, health & environment procedures
    • Ensure the company property & tools maintained and returned as required
    • Maintaining a high level of presentation standards

Role is a rotating roster 7 days on/ 6 days off then 7 nights on/ 8 days off and accommodation/ meals in Rosebery will be provided during rostered days on.

ABOUT YOU 

To be considered for this role we are looking for the following skills, experience & attributes:

Essential requirements:

  • Legally entitled to live & work in Australia
  • Qualified Diesel Technician
  • 2 years post trade experience 
  • Advanced Experience in mechanical diagnosis, servicing and repairs
  • Committed to delivering superior customer service
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
  • A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures

 Desirable requirements: 

  • Familiarity of Caterpillar computer diagnostics
  • AD55B and R2900G Underground machine maintenance
  • Underground Mining experience
  • Air Conditioning Licence
  • High Risk Licence – Dogging and Forklift
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • DBS, SupportPoint, Lotus Notes, SIS experience is highly regarded
  • Current Heavy Vehicle Licence
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Previous supervision or mentoring of trades assistants/apprentices
