We own and are developing a rural retreat located on the Hawkesbury River at Lower Mangrove, NSW. The property contains 4 completed dwellings (3 with outdoor spas) and 4 dwellings planned for later development. The property offers private short term rental (mostly through air b n b) with access to a range of recreational activities such as bush walking, boating, kayaking, cycling and abseiling and horse riding in conjunction with our neighbour Glenworth Valley.
We require the services of a live-in manager to assist in the following:
- manage existing bookings and guests requirements before and during stays- turnaround house / spa cleans, including towels and linen- grounds maintenance such as lawns and general landscaping- property maintenance such as water supply (spring water to tank not towns water), sanitation (septic systems), (rubbish, telco / power / satellite internet / foxtel) and maintenance of internal fixtures and fittings and outdoor settings such as spa, BBQ, deck furniture etc.- supervision of tradesmen and contractors arriving at the property to undertake work- ordering and provision of supplies as required to maintain the property.
We are hopeful of attracting candidates interested in business development, particularly on-line presence. Our goal is to market the property as a spa retreat set in a private rural location for couples or groups looking for a getaway with activities available. The property is configured with a manager's residence and office. The business concept is still in it's infancy with various works currently being finalised to have the 4 houses available so candidates will need to be prepared to roll up the sleeves and have a can do attitude with respect to establishing the business.
Ideally the role would suit a couple looking for a live-in hospitality position focused on outdoor activities yet with indoor comforts. Lower Mangrove is a 1.5 hour drive from Sydney CBD and approximately 30 minutes to Gosford. We are hopeful of attracting candidates meeting the following criteria:
- youthful energy to brand and market the property in a modern and contemporary way such as FB / Instagram / purpose built website- hospitality business related experience developing and maintaining booking channels and record keeping- pleasant manner meeting guest requirements with good service ethic- genuine commitment to taking ownership of the business and expanding the marketing to on-line world- practical hands on approach to maintaining the property with can do attitude- understanding of the challenges of living in a rural setting, dealing with a degree of isolation and being self sufficient- handy man approach to fixing or undertaking works at the property including grounds maintenance.
The role will be offered as an all inclusive contract sum paid weekly such that the business income pays all property outgoings and the managers have no out of pocket expenses. As the business is still being established the contract sum is modest but opportunity exists for the managers to create independent income streams at the property such as meals, paid experiences, and / or commission on bookings generated. The property has a large hall with timber floorboards that offers potential for group activities including yoga / conferences / functions. There are also flat paddocks for outdoor activities.
