Located on the edge of Adelaide's CBD adjacent to the beautiful South Eastern Park Lands, St Andrew's is the largest independent private Hospital in Australia, with more than 20,000 procedures being performed each year. Our patients are admitted electively or via our Emergency Service, and we cater for most surgical specialties including (but not limited to) cardiothoracic, neuro, hepatobiliary, major bowel, urology, and major plastics.  Building on our successful base, we have recently completed a $50 million upgrade and expansion of our clinical facilities.

St Andrew's runs its own in house Kitchen and Catering Service, as well as a Staff Cafeteria.  Staffed by a team of highly experienced and dedicated people, the service proudly enjoys an excellent reputation with our patients and the general public.

About The Role:

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Catering Attendant to join our in-house Dietary Services Team on a casual basis.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of duties that include plating and delivery of meals for patients, non-cook food preparation, general cleaning, dishwashing and pot washing.

Hours:

The position will be offered on a casual basis with varying hours offered based on Hospital needs.  Shifts offered will vary and may include early starts / late finishes, and weekend/public holiday work.  Candidates must be flexible and have availability to work across 7 days of the week.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.  Flexibility and reliability to work across a range of different shifts is essential.  Other requirements include:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Calmness under pressure and the ability to work within tight timeframes
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, including basic food preparation, and knowledge of food preparation standards
  • A professional demeanour
  • A commitment to maintaining safety and wellbeing of self and others in the workplace

Experience within a hospital or aged care setting will be highly regarded.
